Although it could be another month before real progress is made, the BP spill seems to be turning for the better. As more and more news comes in everything seems to be on the much needed positive side. Weather is better and predicted dates are set.
BP is now almost finished digging one of two relief wells that are said to cap the leak. Thad Allen, retired coast guard, claims that it could take up to ten to days to intercept the leaking well.
Need more positive news? After all the horrible weather due to Alex, seas are calming down and clean up is picking up again. Oil skimmers are back to work and will be for a good week. Also, the Helix Producer, a major oil skimmer, is now set to deploy now that weather conditions have improved. The large vessel is said to be able to sweep up 25,000 barrels a day.
It is amazing to hear that everything is improving. The oil spill really needed to make a turn-around and it appears that it really is. Weather's getting better, the Helix will be set to go soon, and serious attempts at stopping the leak are happening.
Isn't it good to hear some positive news? Personally, I am pleased with the fact that the oil spill could be fixed before the end of the summer season and possibly even sooner. It's good to know that things are being done urgently to the beautiful coast of Louisiana. With the Helix we should have oil picked up very quickly.
With 706,700 barrels of oil already picked up, well there i still a whole lot to go. Can you hear the music? '706,700 barrels of oil on the wall, 706,700 barrels of oil... Scoop one up, pass it down, 706,701 barrels of oil on the wall.'
